Hector M Baillie MB FRCPC FACPDr. Baillie studied Mathematics and Bioengineering, before qualifying as a physician, in Glasgow (Scotland). He studied Internal Medicine and Anaesthesia in Winnipeg, and moved to Mission BC in 1987. In 2002, he moved to Nanaimo (on Vancouver Island), and completed 37 years as a specialist in semi-rural Canada. He is a professor of community internal medicine with the University of British Columbia and has worked for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (Examiner), the BC College of Physicians and Surgeons (Physicians Practice Enhancement Program), and the Doctors of BC (Quality Improvement). He is married to Sheena, has 3 wonderful kids, and lives near the sea – with his chocolate lab, Cassie. He likes to travel, kayak, play bridge and (sometimes) paint.
